Since American Horror Story is an anthology series, we could expect a new story for Season 13.

Each season of American Horror Story contains a new setting, a new set of characters (even though some actors appear in multiple seasons, they play different roles), and a new storyline, so what Season 13 will be about is something to look forward to.

The official synopsis for the American Horror Story series reads:

“An anthology horror drama series centering on different characters and locations, including a house with a murderous past, an asylum, a witch coven, a freak show, a hotel, a farmhouse in Roanoke, a cult, the apocalypse, and a summer camp.”

American Horror Story Season 13 is not officially confirmed to be the last season of the series.

FX Networks chairman John Landgraf admitted that it would be “poetic” for the series to end with Season 13 given the significance of the number “13” in the horror genre, but he is not sure whether it would be the last season. Landgraf said to Deadline:

“It will be poetic, won’t it, if it ends after 13 seasons? It could be one of those weird things where we keep going, and it ends up being 20 seasons, I don’t know. I can just tell you that if it ends up being 13, that’s kind of awesome.”

Additionally, in 2019, American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy shared with Entertainment Weekly that he thinks the series can go for 20 years:

“This [Roanoke] was the season that made me think ‘Ok, this show can go for 20 years.’ Because we can keep playing with the format, the form. It proved to me we didn't have to have every season be a grand spectacle. We could be raw and rough and verité. It reinvigorated me in some way, after the operas we had done. This felt like an independent film approach. It felt like, ‘Ok…season 20? Bring it on.’”

So, we can expect more seasons of American Horror Story, as Season 13 may not be the last in the franchise.
