American Gods Season 2 Trailer Teases Major Carousel Scene, New Romance For Laura

American Gods Season 2 is still happening despite all the trouble the series went through in the past year. The trailer for the new season confirms that Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) will be getting the carousel ride of his life and Laura Moon (Emily Browning) might find a new romance.

The trailer opens with Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) inviting Shadow to join him in the carousel. Wednesday also reveals that "when people first came to America, they brought us with them. Forgotten gods, a new life in a new land." Shadow is clearly confused by the statement. "Is everyone in here a god?" he asks, making Mr. Nancy (Orlando Jones) and Czernobog (Peter Stormare) laugh.

There is also a mystical meeting with the Old Gods. "There are new gods in America. Now they want to destroy us," Wednesday says to the gathered deities. "And if you think otherwise, you are fooling yourselves." Needless to say, Mr. World isn't lying when he whispers, "A storm is coming."

It's a trailer filled with amazing scenery. At one point, we see Laura step into a field and lie in the grass before being hugged by Mad Sweeney (Pablo Schreiber). The scene is certainly a surprise since the characters didn't like each other much in the first season. Could this mean Laura is ready for a new romance despite her current predicament? We'll find out when American Gods Season 2 airs next year.

The second season will introduce Kahyun Kim as the new Media. She will replace Gillian Anderson who played the original version of the deity in Season 1. Devery Jacobs also joins the cast as Sam Black Crow. Sakina Jaffrey has been confirmed as the powerful Mama-Ji.

The American Gods Season 2 air date has not yet been confirmed. Nevertheless, the series is expected to return in early 2019.
