The American Gods Season 2 trailer is here and the war between deities continues as Shadow Moon meets new people who will undoubtedly change his story.
The trailer opens with Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) explaining how the ancient gods ended up in America and thrived in the faith of the immigrants. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to last. "Gradually, they abandoned us," Mr. Wednesday says. "Old, forgotten gods. Now, there are new gods growing in America and they want to destroy us." However, the old god has no plans of going away so easily. "Wars a coming, Shadow. I have a big role for you."
The new trailer once again highlights the gorgeous carousel scene that was featured in the first teaser. However, there's more footage here as we see Mad Sweeney (Pablo Schreiber) rushing to battle in what appears to be Celtic paint. There's also a glimpse at Mama-Ji (Sakina Jaffrey) and Mr. Town (Dean Winters). We're certainly hoping that Shadow figures out what's going on before anything terrible happens to him or his undead ex-wife Laura Moon (Emily Browning).
The new season will be the first for new showrunner Jesse Alexander, who is taking over after the departure of Bryan Fuller and Michael Green. Although he has big shoes to fill, it looks like Alexander has done an excellent job at continuing the adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel. We're definitely looking forward to the second season this March.
American Gods Season 2 will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 11.
