AMC Theaters Reveals Avengers: Endgame Runtime Longer Than Three Hours

Earlier this year, the rumor mill spread word that Avengers: Endgame might have an overwhelmingly lengthy three-hour runtime when it would hit the big screen. Now, AMC Theater's website showcases a new landing page for Joe and Anthony Russo's upcoming film and it looks like Endgame just might be a little over three-hours long.

According to AMC Theater's new ad, the second installment in the Russo Brother's two-part movie is going to run for at least three hours and two minutes on the big screen. If proven true, then Endgame would be just as long as Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. It would also make the film the longest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, zooming right past its 149-minute prequel, Avengers: Infinity War.

While a three-hour film in the modern comic book movie industry might seem a little bit too much, the Russos revealed that Disney has no issues with the planned length for Endgame, saying that the Mickey Mouse House is actually "down with what the best story is.

"Right now, we think the movie is playing well and we've had great responses from our test audiences and we're feeling very good about where it is," Joe said in a previous interview.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige echoed the same sentiments, confirming that Endgame wouldn't be limited by the runtime and would instead be released at the "perfect length."

That's a whole lot of hype for the film. We're sure fans wouldn't mind a movie longer than three hours, especially if it brings an end to the past ten years of the MCU.

Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
