The Tokyo Revengers sequels are adapting the manga's Bloody Halloween arc and that means the films will be introducing some important new characters this year. It has just been announced that Alice in Borderland star Nijiro Murakami will play Kazutora Hanemiya in the upcoming live-action movies.
Tokyo Revengers 2 Casts Kazutora, Baji, and Chifuyu
A new teaser for the Tokyo Revengers sequels has just been dropped and it offers our first glimpse at Nijiro Murakami as Kazutora Hanemiya. The brief footage shows the Alice in Borderland actor in what appears to be an important scene.
It's great to see Nijiro Murakami has found another intriguing character to play. In Alice in Borderland, he portrayed Shuntaro Chishiya, who was a quiet yet brilliant player who excelled in most of the dangerous games. Needless to say, he's the perfect actor to play the mysterious Kazutora in Tokyo Revengers 2.
The teaser also features footage of Kento Nagayama as Keisuke Baji and Mahiro Takasugi as Chifuyu Matsuno. All three characters are set to play important roles in the Bloody Halloween arc.
When To Expect Tokyo Revengers 2 Sequels
The first movie is Tokyo Revengers: Bloody Halloween - Fate ("Chi no Halloween - Unmei") while the second one is Tokyo Revengers: Bloody Halloween - Decisive Battle ("Chi no Halloween - Kessen"). Bloody Halloween - Fate will hit theaters in Spring 2023 during Japan's Golden Week and the second movie is set to premiere in Summer 2023.
Both films will bring back Takumi Kitamura, who was previously confirmed as the lead in Netflix's Yu Yu Hakusho live-action series. Kitamura will reprise his role as Takemichi Hanagaki alongside Ryo Yoshizawa and Yuki Yamada, who will return as Mikey and Draken, respectively. Director Tsutomu Hanabusa and producer Shota Okada are also returning for both movies.
Tokyo Revengers: Bloody Halloween - Fate ("Chi no Halloween - Unmei") will hit theaters in Spring 2023 during Japan's Golden Week on April 21, 2023. Tokyo Revengers: Bloody Halloween - Decisive Battle ("Chi no Halloween - Kessen") is scheduled for release on June 30, 2023. The anime's second season is also set to premiere sometime this year.
