The MandoVerse has been home to several surprises since its inception and I think most of us can agree that it helped reinvigorate the Star Wars franchise, especially when many thought it was on the brink of destruction.

While the universe, set in the New Republic era isn't without its flaws, fans are still pretty much invested in its ongoing stories. Now, after displaying its dominance in streaming, Lucasfilm is determined to bring the MandoVerse to the big screen.

In case some of you weren't aware, the production company is currently working on a film that will serve as the culmination of shows like The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew helmed by the one and only Dave Filoni.

As it stands, key details about the exciting project are still being kept under wraps but one rumor suggests that it will see the return of familiar faces that helped shape the franchise.

According to a recent report from the folks over at Giant Freakin Robot (via SFF Gazette), Dave Filoni's yet-to-be-titled MandoVerse film will feature characters from the original trilogy like Han Solo and Princess Leia.

The outlet's trusted source claims that Alden Ehrenreich, who played Han in 2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story will reprise his role while Leia will be played by a new actress instead of Lucasfilm going the facial capture technology route.

Of course, considering Han and Leia were still alive following the events of Return of the Jedi, it only makes sense for them to be involved in the MandoVerse movie, especially given how it's always been intended to bridge the gap between the original and sequel trilogies.

At this rate, it's still best to temper your expectations but the idea of our favorite MandoVerse characters potentially crossing over with original trilogy characters sounds like a dream come true.
