2023 has been a fruitful year for the MandoVerse following the respective releases of The Mandalorian Season 3 and Ahsoka. Unfortunately, both shows couldn't live up to the hype they generated with The Mandalorian's third season becoming plagued with criticism on its creative direction.
Ahsoka, on the other hand also failed to deliver, garnering underwhelming viewership over the course of its eight-episode run. Despite that, it appears that the Rosario Dawson-led show is still on track to get a Season 2 renewal.
This week, a new rumor suggested that Lucasfilm has already greenlit Ahsoka's second season. However, it looks like fans of the divisive show shouldn't celebrate just yet.

New Star Wars Report Casts Doubt on Ahsoka Season 2 Getting Greenlit
While the rumor is undoubtedly exciting, YouTuber Star Wars Meg echoes the sentiment of other scoopers who are a bit skeptical about the idea. According to some, it's still a bit too soon for Lucasfilm to be pulling the trigger on a potential second season, with the SAG-AFTRA strikes still ongoing.
As it stands, Lucasfilm has yet to confirm whether or not Ahsoka is in fact getting renewed for Season 2. Still, it's also worth mentioning that there have long been rumblings surrounding the possibility, even before the series premiered.

Season 1 ended on a massive cliffhanger but we all know that Dave Filoni's MandoVerse crossover film could potentially pick up where the finale left off because obviously, Grand Admiral Thrawn plays a huge factor in the upcoming big-screen project.

The good thing is, that doesn't eliminate Ahsoka's chances of getting a second season or even being renewed for a couple more because Skeleton Crew is also expected to have a two-season run.
