Lars Mikkelsen's casting as Grand Admiral Thrawn in the MandoVerse seemed like a huge pipe dream for years so when it was finally confirmed at this year's Star Wars Celebration in London that he's crossing over to the live-action universe, the entire fandom rejoiced.

However, excitement quickly turned into disappointment after the Star Wars Rebels villain's live-action design made its rounds online. Unfortunately for some, they failed to get a hold of the leaks because Disney immediately took them down.

Now, just over a month before the standalone Ahsoka show's premiere, we're finally getting our best look yet at the notorious Star Wars villain who is set to wreak havoc in the MandoVerse.

Lucasfilm just refueled the hype train by unveiling a brand new trailer for the anticipated series led by Rosario Dawson. There's a lot to unpack in the new teaser — from Baylan Skoll (portrayed by the late Ray Stevenson) and Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno) revealing their plans to Ahsoka and Hera Syndulla trying to convince Sabine Wren to join their cause.

Ezra Bridger also makes an appearance in the 2-minute trailer but one moment that got everyone extremely hyped is the emergence of Thrawn who looks just as menacing as his animated counterpart.

With The Mandalorian's third season failing to exceed expectations, there's no denying that all the pressure in the galaxy is on Dave Filoni to deliver and bring the momentum back to the MandoVerse.

Judging by the stuff we've seen so far though, I have no doubt in my mind that Ahsoka will blow all of us away.

Ahsoka is hitting Disney+ on August 23rd.
