The Mandalorian has concluded its third season and while the polarizing entry left many of us wanting more, Lucasfilm is ready to take the next step in expanding the MandoVerse.

We're still a number of months away from the release of Rosario Dawson's standalone Ahsoka series but it's already promising to be on par with the Star Wars franchise's flagship show.

A new listing from the Writers Guild of America West directory suggests that all eight episodes of Ahsoka are each expected to have a 60-minute runtime. This is longer by comparison to The Mandalorian which averages between 30 to 50 minutes per episode.

As it stands, the production company has yet to confirm if the MandoVerse spinoff will indeed be getting a massive runtime so it's still best to take this one with a huge grain of salt.

Interestingly, showrunner Dave Filoni stated at last month's Star Wars Celebration in London that Ahsoka's episodes will be longer than The Mandalorian's, although he didn't exactly say how long each episode will last.

Filoni told Collider: "I would say they're in the same range as the Mandalorian episodes, maybe on average a little longer, but the most recent cuts are in the same range."

Naturally, most fans would argue that just because a show has a longer runtime, that doesn't mean it's already superior to the other. And while that may be true, Ahsoka's potential runtime allows its creatives to do more with the story instead of cramming everything in one episode, something that The Mandalorian has been doing since its release.

Ahsoka is slated for release this August only on Disney+.
