The first two episodes of Ahsoka will finally premiere on Disney+ next week. Based on the early reactions that it got so far, it looks like fans will be in for a special treat as the titular character finally gets her own series.

Just like most Disney+ shows that have aired before, the series will be aired weekly which gives fans an opportunity to seize every single episode that will air and theorize what will happen on the next one for an entire week.

Now, as we're heading to its highly-anticipated release next week, it looks like Lucasfilm and Disney+ are making a last-minute change to its release strategy and, fortunately, we will now be watching the series premiere a little earlier than expected.

The official social media account of Star Wars has announced that Ahsoka will now air on Disney+ every Tuesday night at 6 pm PT instead of the usual Wednesday midnight release of the streamer's original shows in the past.

As a result, the series is now set to premiere with two episodes a day earlier next week on August 22.

While there is no official explanation regarding the last-minute change in the release strategy, it is still exciting news nonetheless as fans will now be able to watch the premiere a day earlier.

Its Tuesday night premiere timeslot is also reminiscent of the traditional airing of a TV series on linear networks where shows usually air at a scheduled time and give an opportunity for a group of audience to watch together at the same time.

With the new schedule, it sounds like Disney+ and Lucasfilm are making an effort to recreate that type of viewing experience for today's audience, especially since they no longer need to wait for midnight, the time when most people are already asleep.

This is the first time that a Disney+ series receives this type of release strategy and it would be interesting to see if this experiment will end up becoming a success and attract more viewers during the premiere.

If the strategy ends up garnering more viewership than the usual midnight release, it wouldn't be surprising if Disney+ will end up doing it as well in other tentpole original shows that will premiere in the future.
