After a grueling wait, Star Wars fans are finally rejoicing following the release of the standalone Ahsoka series that bridges the gap between Star Wars Rebels and the events that took place in the MandoVerse.
Here's what went down in Episode 1 of Ahsoka!
Ahsoka Episode 1: Sabine Wren Loses Battle Against Shin Hati
The first episode, titled "Master and Apprentice" puts major emphasis on the falling out between Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren, something that Rebels didn't exactly cover. As it stands, we still don't know what led to the former mentor and protege's estrangement but Ahsoka did mention that she stopped training Sabine as her padawan.
Despite that, the two still have a common purpose — finding out whether or not Ezra Bridger is still alive somewhere in the galaxy. During the first act of the episode, Ahsoka successfully retrieves the star map that has the exact location of Ezra and Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Sabine would then take the map and examine it but right after she cracks the code, Shin Hati who is also in hot pursuit of the map attacks her home with the help of some Assassin Droids. After an intense lightsaber battle, Shin's ability to use the Force proved too much for Sabine and she was stabbed, leaving many quite shocked.

Is Sabine Wren Dead After Ahsoka Episode 1?
The promotional material Lucasfilm released prior to Ahsoka's premiere is pretty much a dead giveaway that Sabine will be an important character in the show, thus removing all suspicions about her potential demise. But if you want something definitive, the answer is obviously no.
Thankfully, Sabine survives the lightsaber wound she sustained and by the second episode, it was immediately confirmed that she's fine. In fact, she continues to play a vital role in locating the whereabouts of Morgan Elsbeth and company and would later suit up to join Ahsoka and Huyang in their brand-new quest.
