There’s no doubt that Ahn Bo Hyun aced his action stunts in Netflix’s My Name.

Portraying the skilled detective Jeon Pil Do, the actor revealed that he underwent months of training since most of his scenes include heavy action stunts.

As noted by Soompi, the actor revealed that he has always been interested in doing action scenes.

Moreover, he also dishes out the significant part of doing these types of stunts, and that is to be “on the same level as your partner so that no one gets hurt.”

“I went to action school and worked hard at matching with other people, but I’m not satisfied with the results,” he explained, hoping that he could pull off the scenes perfectly.

“But the people around me told me that it did look like a real fight, so I hope that the two or three months I spent learning wasn’t wasted,” Ahn Bo Hyun said.

Interestingly, the actor revealed that he used to do boxing tournaments, but it never crossed his mind to do it professionally.

Moreover, he described it as one of the most challenging sports, recalling a little accident he had in one of his previous games.

Ahn Bo Hyun revealed that he had to work several part-time jobs to earn money and fix his teeth.

Despite the incident, he says that he still boxes and prefers this as one of his workouts.

Ahn Bo Hyun’s Diet Tips

Besides Ahn Bo Hyun’s workout, the actor also maintains a strict diet.

In the same interview, he revealed that he would monitor his daily food intake and regularly take protein supplements.

For his preparation for the Netflix series, he gained around 5 kilograms and “never skipped a workout on set.”

Interestingly, this helped him portray the role better, not just visually but as what the viewers perceive his character.

“Pil Do isn’t a character with a threatening build, but I wanted to show that he was solid, so rather than show visibly defined muscles, I wanted to fill out his jackets and hoodies with some additional weight,” he added.

From Ahn Bo Hyun’s workout to his strict diet, it seems like all his hard work has paid off as he is set to headline two upcoming K-dramas.
