Acclaimed Knightmare Scene From Batman V Superman Was a Late Addition to the Movie

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is still one of the more divisive superhero movies out there but there are a number of scenes that fans will continue to defend. The scene where Batman breaks into the warehouse to save Martha Kent was awesome and Wonder Woman helping out the two immature superheroes made everyone want to see a solo film with Gal Gadot. The Knightmare scene also stands out to many, clearly being inspired by Injustice and Mad Max.

Well, as it turns out, the Knightmare sequence from Batman V Superman was a last-minute addition to the movie. Speaking with ScreenRant, Ben Affleck stunt double Richard Cetrone said that shooting had already begun when the scene was added to the movie. Cetrone says his work on the scene and movie, in general, was the hardest in his 27 years on the job, which is a bit surprising.

Stunt doubles really deserve more credit since they do some of the hardest work in Hollywood. Not to go on a diatribe here but it would be nice if the Oscars decided to give stunt doubles an award in the future.

Anyway, the Knightmare sequence was a cool sequence in a pretty bad movie like Batman V Superman. That got fans pumped up for a face-off between Batman and Superman, while also building up excitement for a Darkseid-filled Justice League movie. Having Flash go back in time Crisis on Infinite Earths-style was icing in the cake for DC fans.

Batman V Superman: Ultimate Edition is now available on HBO Max.
