A Whole Lot Of Star Wars Fans Aren’t Happy With Star Wars Resistance

Disney just rolled out the very first trailer for its new Star Wars animated series Star Wars Resistance yesterday, and the response has been overwhelming polarized.

Before the trailer's release, there was a lot of excitement building up over Star Wars Resistance. Disney's previous Star Wars animated series, Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, were both well-received by the Star Wars fanbase. Both shows might have been intended for younger audiences but a lot of older fans picked up on the series, appreciating Clone Wars and Rebels action and emotional depth.

Fans had a lot of expectations coming off of Star Wars Rebels, and while some can't help but fall in love with Star Wars Resistance's art style, others feel underwhelmed by the clunky animation.

Here are some of the various comments that people have made online about the upcoming Star Wars series:

Twitter isn't the only place where fans are busy complaining. Resistance's comment section is also littered with criticism with some calling the series a cash grab and others calling it another Star Wars project that bites the dust. The video has also amassed an overwhelming number of dislikes, raking in 36 thousand thumbs down from viewers. Compare that to the trailer's 8.4 thousand likes, and you can't help but wonder what might happen when the series actually premieres.

Let's wait and see.

Star Wars Resistance premieres on October 7.
