A Quiet Place 2 Could Focus on Other Survivors

A Quiet Place was such a big hit when it came out, and a sequel is already in the work; John Krasinki, however, has not yet been confirmed to direct. While we still don't have any concrete ideas on what the plot could be, Krasinski is toying with the notion that the film could focus on other survivors of the event.

He tells Deadline:

"The thing that I loved in the movie, where my mind kept wandering as we were making it, was the question of who was on the other end of those fires, when the father lights the fire and in the distance those other fires light up. How did those people survive? How did that old man survive?"

In the extreme these characters are going through, there's no room to think about that. They're there, there's an old man who's about to scream, they just have to deal with that. I think it would be interesting to see what's going on elsewhere at this same time."

With the ending of the first film leaving open-ended, I think that people would love to see how the story would be able to move forward instead of going back to square one for the sequel. Then again, it all depends on how they approach the movie. I'm fine as long as the story is great.

After Jordan Peele's success with Get Out, it's kind of become a weird trend for Hollywood to have hit horror movies directed by comedy actors. Next thing you know, 2019's hit horror movie will be directed by someone like Bill Hader or Andy Samberg.

No release date has been announced for the sequel to A Quiet Place.
