A Major DC Comics Character is Dying This Month

While death is nothing new in comic books, a really well-executed one can add stakes to a story and maybe even say something about the character. It also means that fans have someone to miss for a while, at least until said hero/heroine come back. With all that out of the way, the upcoming issue of DC Nation #4 has revealed that one of six specific characters will be dying soon.

Revealed by DC to comic book retailers (via Newsarama), these are the characters who might be dying in September: Robin (Damian Wayne), Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Cyborg, Harley Quinn, Booster Gold, and Roy "Arsenal" Harper.

Since the issue is slated to hit stands on September 5 and the cover says a character will die in 21 says, expect a character to die on September 26. This is likely referring to DC's upcoming event series Heroes in Crisis, which has the acclaimed Batman creative team of Tom King and Clay Mann.

For those unaware, Heroes in Crisis will revolve around Sanctuary, a crisis center for heroes who are suffering from PTSD and other forms of trauma. Confirmed characters in this center include The Flash (Wally West) and Poison Ivy.

It will be interesting to see which of these characters are going to die, though some of them seem pretty safe. Harley has an ongoing title that's too popular to cancel, Robin is the figurehead of Teen Titans, and Arsenal just returned in this week's Red Hood and The Outlaws #25. Booster Gold, Cyborg, and Kyle Rayner seem to be the most expendable.

Heroes in Crisis #1 comes out on September 26, while DC Nation #4 comes out on September 5.
