A Killer Paradox is a Kdrama that follows the story of a young adult named Lee Tang (played by Choi Woo-shik) who just returns home after military service. Feeling stuck and with no real dream, Tang gets by with the idea of someday moving to Canada.

To reach that goal, however, he only works part-time at a convenience store since he also has to study. He doesn't earn much, but he believes it's better than nothing.

One day, Tang is assaulted by a drunk man who previously killed his companion. After years of being bullied, Tang decides to fight back and hits the guy on the head with a hammer. This causes the man to stammer around before collapsing to his death.

While Tang is ridden with guilt over what he did, he discovers that the man he killed was a serial killer who has long been on the loose. What happens next is a series of coincidental events that lead to Detective Jang (played by Son Suk-ku) on his tail.

Tang eventually gains the ability to detect bad guys, which causes him to kill them again and again. But is Tang really serving justice to the victims? Or is he turning into a serial killer too?

The Kdrama is based on a webtoon of the same title, which was created by Kkomabi. You can read A Killer Paradox webtoon online.

One interesting thing to mention about the webtoon is that it has won several awards.

Back at the 2011 Korea Content Awards Ceremony, A Killer Paradox won the Rookie of the Year award.

It also earned the top prize at the 2011 Our Manwha of Today, which is a yearly ceremony that the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism hosts.

Those who have finished watching the eight-part Kdrama praise it for remaining faithful to the plot of the original webtoon series. This is pretty impressive since several other Kdramas adapted from webtoons tend to make changes to add drama.

A Killer Paradox was directed by Lee Chang-hee, a Kdrama thriller master who was also behind other hits like Hell Is Other People and The Vanished.
