A Closer Look at Han's Speeder from Solo: A Star Wars Story

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits home video this September, and Lucasfilm is starting its marketing push for the home release of the movie. Thanks to The Star Wars Show, we get a look at Han's Corellian speeder with the Lucasfilm Story Group's Pablo Hidalgo.

The segment starts at 1:55:

Before we actually get a look at the speeder, we're shown a bunch of models and concept art by Solo senior art director Gary Tomkins. It's very clear that Han's speeder was supposed to be the ‘muscle car' version of Luke's landspeeder from A New Hope, and some other concept art harkened back to the podracers from Episode I.

What's also cool is that, the engine that they used for the actual car couldn't fit underneath the hood, so they decided to add a cool ornament on the top to make it look like part of the ship. As you can expect with Lucasfilm, we also get some incredible detail with the rest of the car, including screens and levers that we barely saw in the actual movie.

With the home release just around the corner, we should probably expect more Solo featurettes as we enter September.

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits home video Sept. 14.
