Though word broke out last year that the paused Gambit solo spinoff starring Channing Tatum would continue on with development, little has been known of the status of film's production.
Now, while updating Deadline on the growing X-men universe after the release of the highly successful Logan, writer and producer Simon Kinberg assures fans that the Gambit movie is still on its way.
"We are working hard on New Mutants, Gambit with Channing Tatum, Deadpool 2 and the new X Force movie where Deadpool is alongside Cable and other main characters," Kinberg reveals.
"We are taking chances and those chances are being rewarded commercially and critically. We'll continue to keep taking chances. It means each of the different movies will have different reasons for being. The mandate that I talk about with the studio all the time is that they have to have emotion."
Though it may not be a big press release intended for Gambit, the fact that Kinberg mentions the studio is still working hard on the film along with is other movies like Deadpool 2 and New Mutants is enough to assure fans that they'll be getting that Gambit solo. Let's hope that it comes soon.
