Zack Snyder Reveals Huge Batman v Superman Plans That Almost Happened

Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was home to the first live-action showdown between iconic DC characters Batman and Superman and although it turned out to be a divisive film, I still personally think it delivered. Of course, we also know that BvS was created with the intention of setting up the first Justice League film but apparently, there's more to it than just being a JL prequel.

The Justice League director made a special appearance on The Nerd Queen's League of Mayhem stream and he gave fans some interesting info about the upcoming Snyder Cut as well as new stuff previously unbeknownst to most of us. Snyder unveiled new promotional and concept arts for both Darkseid and Martian Manhunter who has long been confirmed to be part of the DC Extended Universe as early as Man of Steel.

However, the biggest stunner of them all came when Snyder revealed that he actually had plans of including Selina Kyle aka Catwoman in the 2016 film. Apparently, he already had an actress in mind who would've starred opposite Ben Affleck. The actress in question is none other than Carla Gugino who famously appeared in Watchmen. According to him, the original script for BvS would've featured a divorced Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle who have been married for years. Obviously, plans changed and we never got to see Gugino in the film.

It's quite unfortunate how we never got to see a more in-depth look at Bruce Wayne's personal life in the DCEU, but given the fact that Snyder seems to have a renewed hope for the franchise, he can always re-incorporate his original ideas and Gugino could still potentially appear in future projects. That will only happen of course if Snyder is still interested in including Kyle in their shared universe which could be a little too redundant, not to mention confusing to the casual fans considering Matt Reeves' solo The Batman film already features the iconic DC Comics pair.
