Yellowstone Season 4 Finale Spoilers: Somebody Has to Die, But Who?

Well, death is in the air. At least that's what we're sniffin’ in the upcoming Yellowstone Season 4 finale. The Duttons have clearly made a lot of enemies over the years. Could a major figure be killed off in the upcoming finale?

The penultimate episode of the season, which aired on Dec. 26, focused on a lone wolf who continues to appear around Kayce Dutton. Kayce embarked on a personal journey to "cry for a vision" following a visit with Rainwater and Mo. The event is said to last four days without food or water, but will most likely bring him to the answers he wants.

With the growing threat on all of their lives, which reached a breaking point in Season 3, some fans believe a significant death is on the horizon.

Who Will Die in Yellowstone Season 4 Finale?

Beth threatened to kill Jamie, Garrett pledged to pursue the Duttons, and that lone wolf stalked Kayce all the way to his family's new home? It appears to be less of a question of if someone will die and more of an issue of who will die.

Jamie's biodad is a more plausible choice, a figure who is so ruthlessly nasty that his killer is more likely to receive a medal than a prison sentence. We can well imagine Garrett arranging for an "unfortunate accident" to befall Jamie's baby mama Christina if he suspected she'd end up being more of a problem than a solution - she's already suggested taking Pop out of the family album.

If you ask us, getting a Dutton is pretty much impossible. John and Kayce have drawn fire more than targets at a shooting range between them (and lived to tell). Beth couldn't be brought down even if her entire office was blown up. And who would everyone have to dislike if series creator Taylor Sheridan got rid of Jamie?

Finally, there's Rip. In the penultimate episode of Season 4, he warned Beth that something bad would happen to him someday. Furthermore, his death would dramatically upend life at the Yellowstone, shattering little Carter, with whom he'd only recently begun to bond, and destroying his fiancée.

Even the prospect of a simple breakup with Rip made Kelly Reilly, who plays her, worry that such a loss "would probably cut off the last link to her humanity."

Yellowstone Season 4 nears its conclusion on Sunday, Jan. 2 (8/7c).
