Before we get sucked into the disaster of what Yellowstone Season 4, Episode 9 has to offer this weekend, it’s worth revisiting the question that has haunted fans everlong: Does Jamie Dutton die?
What Happens to Jamie Dutton in Yellowstone?
Jamie Dutton is John and Evelyn Dutton's adopted son. However, until the third season of the show, the fact about his true parentage is kept hidden. Jamie confronts John after learning that he is adopted. John tells that his father was sentenced to life in jail for the death of his mother, and the Duttons opted to adopt Jamie while he was still a baby.
Later, Jamie locates his biological father, Garrett Randall, and begins to form a bond with him. Meanwhile, John's actions cause a split between him and Jamie. The majority of the Dutton family members are attacked by a group of masked assailants in the third season finale, prompting viewers to assume Jamie's life is also in jeopardy.
Does Jamie Dutton Die in Yellowstone?
The militia did not attack Jamie, according to the Season 4 premiere of' Yellowstone. As a result, Jamie is still alive, and his life was never in danger. However, the fact that he is protected from the attacks is exactly why some viewers predict Jamie will perish by the end of the season. Jamie discovers in Episode 5 that Garrett is the mastermind behind the Duttons' attacks.
Jamie is first horrified by the information and confronts Garrett about it. Garrett, on the other hand, is able to influence Jamie's emotions and persuade his son that the Duttons are not his biological family. Jamie seemed to believe Garrett's actions were motivated by love for him. He ended up siding with Garrett.
If John learns of Garrett's role in the attacks, his desire for vengeance will almost certainly lead him to a confrontation with Garrett and Jamie.
Beth suspects Jamie of ordering the hit on her family in the season premiere and threatens to kill him if her suspicions are proven to be correct. As a result, even if Jamie did not authorize the attacks, his efforts to protect Garrett may have sealed his fate.
Some fans believe Rip will be the one to put Jamie to death. Jamie's role in Beth's abortion years ago is currently unknown to Rip. This, combined with Jamie's alleged nefarious deeds against the Duttons, could push Rip to murder Jamie.
There is currently no evidence that this will be the case. Wes Bentley, who plays Jamie, is a series regular who will be seen throughout the fourth season. Only time will tell whether Jamie really dies.
