X-Men 90s Animated Series Getting Revival on Disney Plus

Before they made their big-screen debut in 2000, there was the X-Men: The Animated Series in the 90s that ran for five seasons and almost became famous for their iconic theme song which we admittedly still hum up to this day. But as it turns out, the series will be making its comeback soon.

TheWrap has reported that X-Men: The Animated Series is getting a revival titled X-Men '97. It will pick up where the animated series left off. Some of the original voice cast members will also be making their return including Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Adrian Hough, Christopher Britton, Catherine Disher, Chris Potter, Alison Sealy-Smith, Alyson Court. The revival is set to premiere in 2023.

Beau DeMayo will serve as the head writer and executive producer. X-Men: The Animated Series writers Eric Lewald and Julia Lewald and director Larry Houston will serve as consultants on the revival. Jake Castorena serves as the supervising director while Charley Feldman serves as the supervising producer.

Besides the return of the original voice cast members, they are also welcoming new voice cast members such as Jennifer Hale, Anniwaa Buachie, Ray Chase, Matthew Waterson, JP Karliak, Holly Chou, Jeff Bennett, AJ LoCascio.

For years, there have been rumors that the series will be getting a revival and now it is finally official. The original animated series was a huge hit in the 90s and it put the X-Men to the pop culture before they made their big-screen debut in 2000. Interestingly enough, the revival is being produced by Marvel Studios. Does it mean that it will connect to the MCU multiverse in some ways? We will find out soon. Also, we can't wait to hear that catchy theme song again.
