A lot of fans believe that Mark Ruffalo's version of the Incredible Hulk deserves his own standalone film but for years, it seemed like Marvel Studios didn't have plans to give the green giant another go on the big screen especially after the 2008 film starring Edward Norton failed to meet expectations. However, you can never say never in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the franchise is once again proving that anything is possible. Well, judging by the latest rumors, at least.

In case you haven't heard yet, there's a new rumor swirling all over the internet that the upcoming She-Hulk series will set up a World War Hulk film top-billed by no less than Mark Ruffalo himself. As it stands, the specifics about the alleged project have not been disclosed but it is said that the project will begin production in late 2022.

Now, amid the growing speculation about a new solo Hulk film, digital artist @venomhology is giving fans something to be hyped about this early. Taking to his official Instagram page, the artist unveiled his wicked artwork inspired by World War Hulk's comic cover. It sees our favorite Gamma Ray-powered Green Giant donning his Gladiator gear from Ragnarok and it looks like he's ready to wreak havoc onto the world. Check it out here:

A World War Hulk film makes absolute sense considering 2017's Thor: Ragnarok had elements of another fan-favorite Marvel comic Planet Hulk. Now, I don't expect Marvel Studios to give us a full-blown adaptation based on the source material but if the rumors are in fact true, it's great that Ruffalo is finally getting his much-deserved solo film.

Meanwhile, She-Hulk is expected to hit Disney+ in 2022.
