Shoya and his friends were known to be bullies so she was an easy target for them. After Shoko transferred schools and the principal knew about the bullying, Shoya was outcasted so he blamed her for it. This made him a depressed loner when he reached high school. To complete his mission, he went to Shoko, and the two of them became friends. A Silent Voice was one of the most-loved films because of the lesson it has and the good storytelling.
