Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation has been a heartfelt story for many viewers as it focuses on the redemption of a man who once lived a purposeless job then dies only to reincarnate in a wonderful world full of magic in Rudeus Greyrat, guided with the painful past that he has and journeys his new life learning magic and one without regrets.

Studio Bind, a new anime production company, has been built for the creation of the Isekai animeMushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. The series has been raising the bar really high now that it has been gathering attention all across the globe.

The global reach of Mushoku Tensei could be attributed to the streaming platforms that offer the animated series in various regions: Funimation, Hulu, and Netflix Japan. While an English Dub is yet to be announced or confirmed, the streaming services currently offer English subtitles for the series.

The series is currently on its fifth episode and the sixth is underway with Rudy now learning more about the world of magic, many have been meaning to ask if there would be a season 2 for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. Here is what we know so far.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation has been confirmed to have a total of 23 episodes for the whole first season and it would be a split-cour anime. The anime's DVD has confirmed that it would be having four-disc volumes for the 23 episodes for the first season.

In case you may be wondering what a cour is, it is a three-month block on the physical season's TV broadcast usually comprising of ten to thirteen episodes. This would mean that when Mushoku Tensei reaches Episode 11, it would be having a three-month break in between before the next episode returns.

The eleventh episode of Mushoku Tensei marks its first cour on March 22, 2021, and the twelfth episode will be returning on July 2021 which will continue until the series reaches its season finale slated until September 2021.

For most, it would instantaneously feel that Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation will be having two seasons released in one year. But will there be more?

Chances are… yes, there would be more!

There is still no confirmation as to the second season of Mushoku Tensei but it has a high chance of having one, not only because Mushoku Tensei became a chart-topping series, but because there are a lot of factors which can be considered for the possibility of the second season and the series mostly ticked off all those in the list.

First up, after the first season of Mushoku Tensei, Studio Bind will have its schedule wide open as it is mainly created to make Mushoku Tensei happen. Clearly, this puts the second season of Mushoku Tensei close to Studio Bind's heart and if and when a second season happens, the series would not look for a studio as its home because it already has one in Studio Bind.

Second, the production company EGG FIRM released an official document which expressly states that "Studio Bind will use this work [Mushoku Tensei] as a launchpad for its full-scale animation production business… "In order to make this work into an anime, we decided that we needed a system that would allow us to move forward with the project in a continuous, long-term, and systematic manner."

With the wording, it looks as if Mushoku Tensei will be a long-term project for the production company and it will be a continuous production. This would easily make Mushoku Tensei a continuing anime with many episodes and seasons.

Third, there is more of Mushoku Tensei in the light novel series it is based on. Author Rifujin na Magonote's light novel series has a staggering 264 chapters divided into 25 volumes.

To note, the first season of Mushoku Tensei only covers a few of these chapters and volumes with the season finale predicted to cover only until Chapter 51 of Volume 10.

Despite having announced that the end of the light novel series is nearing with the upcoming release of Volume 26 this year, there is definitely more content waiting for the Mushoku Tensei Animated series.

If and when there would be a second season, it will take on the events after the Mana Calamity where Rudeus and Eris travel through the Demon and Milis Continent where they would encounter the Dragon God Orsted before making it back to Fittoa, Rudeus' home town.

Tired from the long journey, Rudy wakes up alone with Eris leaving him without any goodbyes and with a message that they are not meant for each other. This is where Rudy becomes depressed so he travels alone to the north of the Central Continent to look for his mother, Zenith. In this adventure, he becomes Rudeus of Quagmire.

After finding a clue as to the whereabouts of Zenith from the friend of his former tutor Roxy, Rudy receives a letter of invitation to enroll at Ranoa University of Magic where he will be dealing with powerful classmates and a duel with a demon lord.

If all these don't excite you yet for what lies ahead of the story of Rudy, then you must be kidding! The best chance is if there would be a second season, it won't be too long and could happen in 2022 at the earliest.

All the stars point to a possibility of the second season of Mushoku Tensei so stay tuned to his page and follow Rudy's journey in his reincarnated life.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Episode 6 is slated for release on February 14, 2021, for premium subscribers of Funimation. For those who have yet to subscribe, it will be available for free on February 21, 2021.
