If you think the competition is of streaming is just on films or series, you might want to think again as even games are brewing its competition between PlayStation and Xbox were, reportedly, Sony is working on something for PlayStation's version of a game pass for PS5 to counter that of Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service.

According to the creator of God of War, David Jaffe, who also happened to be a former developer for PlayStation, in his recent live stream on his YouTube channel, he said that Sony is working on an equivalent of the Xbox Game Pass service for PlayStation.

Jaffe said, "Sony doesn't owe anybody the truth about what's coming and what their counterpunch to [Xbox] Game Pass is. What I can tell you is I know they are doing some stuff, because I know people at Sony who have told me that they are doing some stuff. There will be a response to Game Pass. What it is, we don't know."

In the past, the head of Sony, Jim Ryan, already teased the PlayStation's version of the Game Pass. In the same livestream, Jaffe mentioned the older PlayStation games which leads to a lot of speculations that Sony might be planning something for its old library and these old titles might appear in the Game Pass equivalent.

Gamers also speculate that PlayStation Now (PSNow) will be the copy of the Xbox Game Pass which will allow them to download games on their consoles or PC than streaming the games online. To date, PSNow is Sony's equivalent to the Game Pass where games can be streamed through several devices.

Still, the Xbox Game Pass has an edge on the game considering that its library is bigger and that the games can be downloaded for offline play. Recently, Xbox Game Pass release an additional number of games such as Grand Theft Auto V, Zombie Army 4: Dead War, Pathway, MLB The Show 21, and many others.

PlayStation has been quiet for the past year and it seems that they are careful with the announcements they release. This could also mean that they are still brewing something that isn't ready for the public eye just yet, something like an equivalent to the Xbox Game Pass.
