For a finale with two remaining episodes, Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 really unpacked a lot of things but not everyone gets to go home as a toll of deaths happened in Hawkins. Who lives and who dies in the end? Also, what is Max’s status?

Even though it only has two episodes, Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 brings in a complete package of every emotion known to human beings and needless to say, a fifth season coming in and being the finale of the whole show seems fitting after Volume 2 was released.
Who Dies in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2?
Unfortunately, not everyone gets to go home in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 and with Vecna’s wrath being felt all over Hawkins, some sacrifices are made to save the others.
Eddie Munson
Of all the deaths, Eddie Munson’s death took a toll in almost everyone’s hearts. While he promised not to be a hero, he died as one for a town that utterly hates him and accused him for being a murderer. Eddie Munson decided not to run away anymore like when he did when Chrissy died. Instead, he faced his own demons and the bat-like creatures of the Upside Down.
Dustin believed in him from the start and until his last breath, that he is more than just an innocent man who took the blame. Eddie chose to fight the battle instead of fleeing, and he handed down the Hellfire club to Dustin.
Dr. Brenner
As early as the penultimate, there is already a death in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2. While arguing with Eleven, Dr. Brenner was alerted that Lt. Colonel Jack Sullivan found their location and they are in pursuit of killing Eleven, thinking that she is the cause and not the cure. While they may be partly correct, Eleven remains to be the only one standing in harm’s way from mass destruction.
Will all of Dr. Brenner’s strength, he tried to carry Eleven out of the bunker and unfortunately, snipers are on site. Sullivan gave permission to shoot and Dr. Brenner was gunned down. Eleven did not waste a second to put down the helicopter where the sniper was in. Still, in the end, even when Dr. Brenner tried to explain to Eleven that all he did was for her, she left him for dead
Jason Carver
He’s the annoying guy who led the Hawkins Basketball team and branded the Hellfire club as a satanic cult who offers people through some sort of ritual. He remained in pursuit of the members of the Dungeons and Dragons game club and never considered anything that the others said. In the end, Vecna’s wrath of shaking the Earth sliced him into two.

Who Lives in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2?
Most of the main characters lived through Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2. Eleven survived her tests and got her powers back. Mike, Will, Jonathan, and Argyle got to Eleven in time for her escape and they aided her in her “piggyback” through a pizza freezer.
Hopper, Joyce, Murray, and Enzo all got out even after breaking out, then breaking in prison fighting the shadows or the creatures of the Upside Down in the custody of the Russians. Enzo finally convinced Yuri that they need him and he used to be a hero.
Lucas was pretty beaten out by Jason but he survived. Erica was left unharmed. Dustin got a banged up leg for coming back for Eddie and even when the latter died, Dustin was able to tell the story of Eddie to those who mattered the most, Eddie’s uncle. Nancy, Robin, and Steve got a close call but Eleven beat Vecna in time.
Mike gets home to his family and when they proceed in the cabin at the woods, Eleven is finally reunited with Hopper and Joyce. Eleven thanks Joyce for going to the "conference" and bringing Hopper back.
Is Max Alive in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2?
Well, technically, as explained by Lucas, Max died for more than a minute, like clinically dead. But Eleven tried to bring her back while in the mindscape and suddenly, she’s back to life, however, in a non-responsive coma and no one knows if she would wake up again. Vecna got to her, completing his Four Chimes, and she lost sight and her limbs were all broken.
Without Eleven’s intervention, Max could have been dead by now but thankfully, she was there. However, when Eleven tries to reconnect with Max’s consciousness, she could not find her. Could Max be somewhere else? Somewhere in the middle of life and death?
Is Dr. Owens Alive in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2?
It wasn’t shown that Sullivan actually killed him but considering that they were in a bunker, he had a good chance he’s alive but he may be in prison for keeping Sullivan and his people away from Eleven. While Dr. Owens’ status remains unknown, his colleague extended help to Hopper, Joyce, and Murray to get back to America.
Is Vecna Alive in Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2?
Vecna slash Henry slash One is revealed to be the creator of the sinister things in the Upside Down like the Mind Flayer. Each of his victims remain connected to him, feeding off of them, and empowering himself to become a predator. Eleven pinned him within the mindscape which gave Steve, Robin, and Nancy the chance to kill him off.
Unfortunately, when they ran outside to see Vecna’s body, it’s gone. Jamie Campbell-Bower recently confirmed that he will return in Season 5 so that pretty much tells that Vecna is still alive. Will also shared how he still feels Vecna and that he would not stop until he killed everyone. It turns out, Will’s connection to the Mind Flayer directly connected him to Vecna.
