Answering the call of the fans is the new trailer of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which unveils the first look of the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of MODOK but who is he and how does the villain fit into the narrative of the Phase Five opener?

MODOK's absence in the first trailer of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was quite lingering for most fans but once the second trailer arrived, much to the surprise of everyone, a familiar MCU actor comes back to fill in the role: Corey Stoll who played Darren Cross/ Yellowjacket in the first Ant-Man movie.

Yellowjacket was lethally shrunk by Scott Lang and just as everyone thought that's the last they've seen of Corey Stoll in the MCU, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania confirms that the actor is cast for MODOK, short for "Mental Organism Designed Only For Killing."

In the comics, MODOK is best known known for his freakishly huge head and hover chair given his small body. He's an intelligent villain with psionic powers and would likely be a huge threat in the film as well. His appearance on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania that Kang isn't the only villain.

With the casting of Corey Stoll as MODOK, this leads to the theories of many that MODOK became the distorted freakishly-looking villain in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania through the help of Kang the Conqueror after Scott Lang banished him from existence in Ant-Man.

That could explain why he looks so distorted and fitting enough, MODOK's color scheme in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania seems to match that of Yellowjacket, too. However, that would change everything, especially what the comic book readers know, about MODOK.

Some believes that MODOK could possibly be from a variant of Darren Cross. That doesn't mean the fans couldn't hate the new design for MODOK. See, this version look more like a robot than an organism. A new design has been given for MODOK which is different than that in the comics.

Well, it may be best to know more about him when he debuts on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in theaters on February 17, 2023!
