WandaVision has a bountiful of characters both new and recurring and one of the latest additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe through the canon series is Agnes aka Agatha Harkness. With her own series on the way, Agatha: The Darkhold Diaries, who is Agatha Harkness and what are her powers, exactly?
With a total of nine episodes throughout the series, WandaVision started off bizarre with the sitcom style of storytelling which later became a mixture of what is happening inside and outside of the show within show.
Kathryn Hahn plays the role of Agnes, the nosy neighbor of Wanda, who has always been to the rescue whenever Wanda would be needing help.
Throughout the series, it was shown that whenever Wanda or anyone in their family would be needing help, Agnes would appear. Even Vision found it strange that whenever something happened, she would be right at their doorstep.
By the end of the series run, we finally get to meet who Agnes really is.

WandaVision Revelation of Agatha Harkness
In the seventh episode of WandaVision, Breaking the Fourth Wall, the latter half of the episode revealed the true character of the nosy neighbor Agatha Harkness.
Living right next door to Wanda, Agatha has a direct view of what is happening inside the residence of Wanda and Vision and is probably aware of pretty much everything that is happening in Westview.
The reveal was as if Agatha intended for Wanda to find her true identity.
It had all been a part of her plans when she pointed out that Wanda's twins went off to the basement to play, only to find out that it is the lair of Agatha with vines on the walls, spells on cabinets, and a mysterious glowing book in the middle.
Confused, Wanda was surprised by a ragged-haired Agnes carrying Senor Scratchy in her arms, marking her big reveal as Agatha Harkness, greeting Wanda as if it was their first time to meet.
She told Wanda, "You didn't think you were the only magical girl in town, did you?" Then put an exhibit of her powers which is something like that of Wanda's.
After their exchange, Agatha puts Wanda into something like a trance with her purple power over the head and eyes of Wanda.
Agatha Harkness got her whole credits scene titled Agatha All Along where all her involvement in the story of Wanda was shown: her meeting Wanda for the first time, her magic setting off Wanda and Vision's magic show, and her putting Herb in a weird state of mind making him cut through the wall instead of the plant.
Included in the Agatha All Along credits scene was when she brought Pietro to Wanda's doorstep with him seemingly under her control, as well as when Agatha pretended to be one of Westview's hostages when she saw Vision on the road.
Agatha is also revealed to be the one behind the cameras in the sitcom and poor little Sparky, Agatha admitted to killing him off.
Who is Agatha Harkness?
Agatha Harkness originally appeared in the comics when she was a witch who dates back to when Atlantis sank to the bottom of the sea, to the Salem Witch trials, up to the present.
Agatha was first introduced in the comics when she assisted the Fantastic Four.
During the Salem Witch trials in the 1700s, Agatha formed a coven of her own with the main goal of practicing witchcraft in the New World.
However, the New World was not as friendly as she and her coven were persecuted by the Puritans.
Agatha survived and then led her life to become the most powerful sorceress in the commune. In the comics, she chanced upon Wanda and became the Scarlet Witch's mentor who aided her in discovering and mastering her powers.
Based on the comics, Wanda accidentally created her children out of the fragments of the soul of Mephisto who would, later on, take the children from Wanda.
It was Agatha who eased up the burden of Wanda by erasing the memories of the children and Wanda to make them forget about the pain.
Agatha Harkness and Her Powers in WandaVision
To date, we have only seen a few of Agatha's powers in the short time of its introduction. She exhibits the same powers as Wanda with telekinesis. In various instances like when she closed the door and made trouble in the talent show.
She also shows telekinesis through the form of control over the person like how she puts Herb in a trance-like state, even controlling Pietro before meeting Wanda, and in their meeting, she seemingly puts Wanda under her control as well.
In the comics, Agatha has powers of sorcery which enable her to tap into ambient magical energy around her and manipulate it to her will.
Her powers sprung from three sources: personal powers from the mind, the soul, and the body; ambient magical energy surrounding the universe; and through tapping of extra-dimensional energy which she can get from invoking entities in mystical dimensions.
Agatha Harkness' Powers and Weaknesses Explained
Through her powers of sorcery, she can blast magical energy bolts, make energy shields, teleportation, telepathy, flight, and astral projection.
Agatha also has spells and phrases under her belt. As an ancient witch like herself, she has had hundreds of years of practice and of spells to learn.
If anything, the only weakness Agatha holds is being surpassed by someone as powerful as Wanda Maximoff's Scarlet Witch, whose immense energy takes root from one of the Infinity Stones combined along with the vast knowledge of the Darkhold Spellbook.
If the upcoming series would be following the comic-book arc of Wanda and Agatha, it could go both ways as Agatha's history with Wanda changed through time.
Still, even when the show deliberately set up Agatha as the one who keeps messing up the things around Westview, many believe that her character is just a red herring for the real big bad of the show.
Could Agatha still be the villain of her own Darkhold Diaries series or will her intentions prove otherwise?
