For decades,the Super Mario franchise has been a success for Nintendo. The game has since been released in several spin-off franchises, which all include the iconic brothers and other characters in the Mario universe. And 40 years later, we finally know more about the upcoming film, The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
The big announcement was revealed by Nintendo game producer and director, Shigeru Miyamoto. He is credited as one of the main creators of the game in 1985.

When Does The Super Mario Bros. Movie Come Out?
Even though we're hearing more details about The Super Mario Bros., the project has actually been in works since 1993. In 2021, Miyamoto made the official announcement. And now, we're getting word on when the movie will be released in the US.
As shared, The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be released in theaters on March 30, 2023. It was originally slated for December 2022. But as revealed by Deadline, both Universal and Illumination decided to push the release date by four months. This is so family audiences can make the most of the film during Easter.
After its release in April, the movie will be released in Japan by April 28, 2023.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie: What Is the Story About?
Right now, we don't know yet what the movie will be about. But in a nutshell, the movie will likely follow the story of two brothers Mario (voiced by Chris Pratt) and Luigi (voiced by Charlie Day) as they try to save the captured Princess Peach (voiced by Anya Taylor-Joy).
