What's Next for the X-Men after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? Are They Coming to the MCU?

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness opens up the possibilities of the entrance of the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Inhumans into the MCU with the introduction of the members of Illuminati such as Black Bolt, Mister Fantastic, and Professor Charles Xavier. Even when Wanda managed to kill them all, here is where they could still be in the MCU.

See, the universe where Illuminati are residing is Earth 838. As America Chavez tells Doctor Strange that there are multiple versions of everyone in different universes, this hints to the possibility that the Earth 616 counterparts of Mister Fantastic and the Fantastic Four, Black Bolt and the Inhumans, and Professor Charles Xavier and the X-Men are still present and undetermined by the Earth’s mightiest heroes.

Back in 2019, Kevin Feige proudly announced that the X-Men will now be part of the MCU. The X-Men are yet to debut and introducing Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is just the first step of the many ones that the mutants would have to take to fully make their way into the franchise.

Having mutants will definitely increase the powered individuals and given that their Earth 616 counterparts are yet to debut, this only means that the possibility of getting them is near, a few years and then we will all have the X-Men back to the big screens and this time, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. First on the line-up with a confirmed movie is Deadpool with his third film already in the works.

It is sure, though, that the X-Men will arrive but the question remains the same: when? Well, it is definitely worth the wait and we might need to give Marvel Studios ample time to finally unveil their plans for the mutants.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now in theaters.
