We all know for a fact that the DC Extended Universe is still struggling in terms of cohesiveness and consistency but in the "elseworld" side of things aka the stories that take place outside of the main DCEU continuity, Warner Bros. has undeniably struck gold with the respective successes of Joker and The Batman.

Speaking of the 2019 blockbuster, a lot of people were under the impression that the Joaquin Phoenix-led spinoff film will just be a one-off project but just recently, it was officially confirmed that a sequel is finally in the works with the duo of Phoenix and director Todd Phillips returning to collaborate.

And it looks like the Clown Prince of Crime will be having some reinforcement in the sequel officially titled Joker: Folie à Deux. According to a scoop from The Hollywood Reporter, Joker 2 will also feature Harley Quinn to be played by none other than pop star Lady Gaga.

As it stands, the specifics regarding Gaga's role have yet to be disclosed but what's intriguing is that the film is said to be a musical of some sort.

Lady Gaga may have spent most of her career as a successful singer but her acting resume isn't to be taken lightly. In fact, she scored multiple nominations for her performance in 2018's A Star is Born, even bagging the Best Actress trophy at the 2019 Critics' Choice Awards.

Now, I don't know about the part where Joker 2 will be presented as a musical but it's interesting, to say the least and I'm pretty sure Phoenix and Gaga have something mind-blowing in store for us.

Joker: Folie à Deux is currently in development.
