Walker: Independence Spoilers, News & Update: Jared Padalecki Appears Bent On Appearing In Spinoff Series

Jared Padalecki, who starred in and executive produced the original Walker series, hopes to expand his involvement in Walker: Independence.

Padalecki plays Texas Ranger Cordell Walker in the original CW series, and despite not knowing how a crossover may play out in actuality, Padalecki is inspired by Matt Burr, who plays Hoyt Rawlins in the original series but also has a part in Independence.

Jared Padalecki Refuses To Not Be Involved In Walker: Independence

Perhaps not so long ago, we learned that the prequel series Walker: Independence on the CW would be returning. While we enjoy the release of the Walker spinoff series, we are also learning fresh and pertinent details about potential cast members for the ongoing series.

"It's totally something we've talked about and thought about since Day 1 of the conception of Walker: Independence," Padalecki told TVLine. "And whether it's a flashback on Walker or a flash-forward on Walker Independence, or whether they can dress me up enough to let me exist in Independence, just not as Cordell Walker, I see a bunch of fun ways to kind of integrate the two, and keep that Walker-verse thriving and throw in Easter eggs."

And Padalecki is determined to carry the plan forward: "I refuse to let Walker Independence carry on without me being on screen in 19th century Texas in some way, shape, or form."

Walker Enjoys Continued Success on The CW

Since Walker's premiere at the beginning of 2021, it has been successful for the network. The show has established itself as one of the most popular ones over time. The third season of the show, which debuted at the beginning of October, is currently airing.

Walker: Independence is set in the late 1800s and tells the tale of rich Boston resident Abby Walker, who witnesses the death of her husband and leaves for the West with the intention of exacting revenge. She joins forces with Rawlins for the journey, and the two travels to Independence, Texas.

When they arrive in Independence, they will discover a sense of belonging among the city's teeming population of misfits.

Seamus Fahey and Anna Fricke wrote Walker: Independence, and Fricke, Padalecki, and Laura Terry executive-produced the series.
