Venom Director Wants to Have a Venom and Spider-Man Crossover

With controversial post-credits scenes from Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-man: No Way Home, leaving us cliffhangers about Spiderman and Venom’s future face-off in the MCU, plans for a crossover is still not in talks. Venom’s director Ruben Fleischer discusses his interest in this crossover.

Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock isn’t an official member of the MCU yet, but after Venom: Let There Be Carnage, (SPOILER ALERT!) we see a laid-back Brock watching a TV show while talking to his alter ego; who also seems to enjoy the show. Venom discusses keeping secret as “80 billion light-years of hive knowledge across the universes would explode your tiny little brain.” Now, we know that this could be a hint for the next Venom standalone movie but from there, things unexpectedly began to turn around. We see Brock being transported to another location, assuming it's on a beach. The confusion between Brock and Venom escalated and we hear J. Jonah Jameson reporting on the TV and guess what, we see Tom Holland’s Spider-man controversy about his identity which takes place in the Spiderman: No Way Home movie.

From Tobey Maguire’s Spider-man, we saw that he also came across Venom and got his black suit.

In an interview last 2021 for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, director Andy Serkis explained that the Venom and Spiderman crossover will probably happen though the questions of “how” and “when” are the pivotal questions.

However, the first director of the Venom franchise, Ruben Fleischer, also discussed his interest in the crossover. Fleischer discussed all of this in Sony’s Uncharted movie promo, which is also ironically played by Tom Holland. Having directed both Uncharted and Venom, Fleischer got the chance to work with Tom Hardy and Tom Holland which fans argued that Fleischer might be the best director for the crossover.

"We'll have to see. I mean, it would be honestly a dream come true to have those two worlds converge. It'll be a formidable battle between those two characters, so... whether or not I direct it, I'll certainly be excited to see it."

In a previous interview, Spider-man producer Amy Pascal confirms that a third movie for the Venom franchise is on its way. We can assume that this crossover will surely happen in the future of the MCU, but as of now, we have to be patient and see how these standalone characters make their way to whether facing off or teaming up with one another.
