Vanessa Bryant: How is Kobe Bryant’s Wife Today?

Vanessa Bryant is a philanthropist who’s better known as the widow of the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant. After the tragic death of the Los Angeles Lakers legend and her daughter, Gianna-Maria Bryant, in a horrific helicopter crash in 2020, she renamed Mamba Sports Foundation to Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation and started to lead it.

The Career and Philanthropic Works of Vanessa Bryant

Vanessa and Kobe founded the VIVO Foundation in 2007 and later renamed it the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Foundation. The charity provides scholarships for minority college students and other youth worldwide and collaborated with Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The couple was also the founding donor of the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Sadly, the unexpected happened in 2020 when Kobe and their daughter Gianna-Maria died in a helicopter crash near Calabasas in California.

This led Vanessa to change the name of Mamba Sports Foundation to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation to honor her late child. The foundation aims to help poor child athletes.

She then launched a Mambacita line of clothing in 2021 in partnership with Dannijo, which proceeds go to the Mambacita Sports Foundation.

Vanessa, too, was the president and CEO of Granity Studios and worked with Baby2Baby to support women and kids in poverty.

Vanessa Bryant Thanks Khloe Kardashian

More than two years after Kobe and Gianna-Maria’s death, Vanessa seems to be doing fine today. She received a philanthropy award from Baby2Baby in 2021 and the Be Your Own Champion Award for her Mambacita Sports’ leadership in 2022.

She also recently thanked Khloe Kardashian for sending her a gingerbread house for the holiday season. It even featured heartwarming details that honored the late Kobe and Gianna-Maria.

The food featured a roof with the names Vanessa, Natalia, Capri, and Bianka, with mistletoes. On the other side, Kobe and Gianna’s names had hearts with angel wings, alluding that they were already in heaven.
