VALORANT Will Rotate Limited Time Modes With Every Patch Cycle

The limited time modes in VALORANT won't be quite as limited moving forward. On May 21, Riot Games announced that VALORANT's limited time modes will be put on a scheduled rotation, and cycle in and out as part of the game's regular updates, which will be "about every two weeks."

Only three limited time modes have been introduced in VALORANT so far: Snowball Fight, Escalation, and Replication. Compared to the standard VALORANT match, each of these modes have unique set of match rules, and they typically last faster to give players a break from the competitive nature of standard matches. More LTMs are expected to be added in the future, so expect the cycle to get updated with new ones.

Players may be wondering why they couldnot simply make all these modes available at all times. According to Riot, having too many active queues at all times dilutes the player pool, which could slow down matchmaking.

Currently, VALORANT has four regular queues that are always active, Ranked, Unraked defuse, Deathmatch, and Spike Rush.

VALORANT's first limited time mode rotation is scheduled for May 25, 2021, when the current Replication mode will be replaced by another mode, but Riot hasn't revealed if Snowball Fight or Escalation will return, or if they're introducing a new one.
