VALORANT RGX 11z Pro Bundle Disabled After Players Reported FPS Drops

Following release of VALORANT RGX 11z Pro skin bundle with patch 3.07, several players have reported FPS drops in-game while using the new weapon skins, prompting Riot Games to temporarily disable the premium weapon skins.

Inspired by high-end gaming hardware, the RGX 11z Pro bundle spinning mechanical components and LED lights, and consists of new weapon skins Frenzy, Stinger, Guardian, Vandal, as well as the brand new katana melee.

Once purchased, players can also use Radianite Points to upgrade each weapon skin to add new VFX, animations, finisher, and a kill counter at the rear of the guns along with color variants.

However, many players who purchased the latest weapon skin bundle expressed their disappointment on social media, with many immediately reporting performance issue drops and a post on the VALORANT Subreddit highlighting the issues recently climbed to the top.

With several players reporting frame rate drops while using them, the new weapon skins are being labeled "pay to lose".

On Oct. 6, Sentinels' VALORANT pro Shahzeb 'ShahZaM' Khan tweeted that he gets 100 less FPS when using the RGX Pro Vandal skin.

A developer from Riot Games followed up to the reports, stating in a Reddit comment that there's an ongoing investigation that will determine if a hotfix is needed. "We're doing some investigation into the full severity of it and will determine if we hotfix this or push an update in the next patch. We'll make sure we communicate what we decide to do."

Shortly after, the official VALORANT Twitter account announced that the highest tier variants would be disabled altogether. On Oct. 8, Riot explained that players are currently unable to purchase "Level 5 and variants for the gun in the skin set".

At the meantime, other variants are still accessible while Riot is working on a fix.

There's currently no follow-ups for the fix, so players could be waiting until the next VALORANT patch on Oct. 19 to fully upgrade the premium cosmetics.
