Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is the seventh installment in the Transformers live-action film series, serving as a standalone sequel to Bumblebee (2018) and a prequel to Transformers (2007). Many have been wondering which transformers are in Rise of the Beasts.

The Autobots in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Explained
We already know the Autobots from the previous Transformers films. They are “autonomous robotic organisms from the planet Cybertron,” as explained in the previous films.
Autobots can transform into vehicles, machines, and other similar mechanical objects. They are honorable and fight for the greater good.
Here are the Autobots that are in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts:
Optimus Prime
Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots. He transforms into a red 1987 Freightliner FLA semi-truck.
From the past films, we know that he favors the humans. However, in Rise of the Beasts, we see Optimus Prime in a different light.
Talking about Optimus Prime in Rise of the Beasts, Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura explained:
"He's new to earth. He doesn't have a connection to Earth the way he does when we met him in the Bay films and in the animation series, where he's already a protector of earth. In this film, it's forming why he has a link to humanity and why he has a link to earth, and that's emotional."
Optimus Prime is voiced by Peter Cullen.
Bumblebee
The fan-favorite Bumblebee is back for the seventh Transformers film. Bumblebee is an Autobot who transforms into a black and yellow 1970s Chevrolet Camaro.
Bumblebee is Optimus Prime’s most trusted ally. He’s also known for befriending humans like Sam Witwicky and Charlie Watson.
But while Bumblebee is in Rise of the Beasts, it’s his fellow Autobot Mirage that gets a human sidekick this time.
Mirage
Mirage is an Autobot who shares a deep connection with the human Noah, an ex-military electronics expert who struggles to find a job to help his family.
Mirage transforms into a silver 964-Gen Porsche 911 and has the ability to project holograms. Mirage likes to smile often and tends to question authority.
Director Steven Caple Jr. calls him “the rebel in the group”, while di Bonaventura says he’s "anti-authority."
The Autobot Mirage is voiced by Pete Davidson.
Arcee
Arcee is an Autobot who transforms into a dark pink and white Ducati 916 motorcycle. The character had a brief appearance in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009).
Director Caple says that Arcee is “super tough and fierce. She's very much a loyal soldier to Prime and the voice of reason at times."
Arcee is voiced by Liza Koshy.
Wheeljack
Wheeljack is an Autobot mechanic who transforms into a brown and white 1970s Volkswagen bus. Wheeljack is known for his technical knowledge, and he helps the Autobots in the fight against the Terrorcons.
Wheeljack is voiced by Cristo Fernández.
Stratosphere
Stratosphere is an Autobot that transforms into a plane. Stratosphere provides transportation for the Autobots in their quest to defeat the Terrorcons, which makes him an essential member of the team.
Stratosphere prefers the skies to the ground and his size can fit the entire Autobot team.
Stratosphere is voiced by John DiMaggio.

The Maximals in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Explained
The Maximals are the descendants of the Autobots. But unlike the Autobots, Maximals take the form of animals.
They are an advanced race of beast-robots and have taken an oath to protect the universe. They fight alongside the Autobots in the battle against the Terrorcons.
Here are the Maximals that are in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts:
Optimus Primal
Optimus Primal is the leader of the Maximals who was named after Optimus Prime. Optimus Primal transforms into a 13-foot-tall mechanical gorilla.
His character’s form is based on unused concept art from Transformers: The Last Knight (2017). Talking about the character, director Caple said:
“He’s the beating heart to the Maximals. If you look at what Prime is to the Autobots, he's that to the Maximals. He's older by design but has wisdom that goes beyond us. He takes care of his own."
Optimus Primal is voiced by Ron Perlman, who also voiced another version of the character in the animated web series, Transformers: Power of the Primes.
Airazor
Airazor is a Maximal who transforms into a fire-breathing peregrine falcon. She’s a brave member of the team who provides air support.
"She's very nurturing, but don't test her. Underneath her regal design, she's still a beast,” director Caple says. Director Caple also says that Airazor is “very beautiful – she’s a bird, she’s regal, she’s elegant.”
Airazor is voiced by Michelle Yeoh, who’s known for her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022).
Cheetor
This Maximal can transform into a giant robot-cheetah. Cheetor is the fastest of all beasts.
“Cheetor’s fast, very quick, very agile. He talks fast. He has a little spunk to his character,” director Caple said.
The Maximal Cheetor is voiced by Tongayi Chirisa.
Rhinox
From the name itself, this Maximal can turn into a rhinoceros, with 8,000 pounds of sheer force. Director Caple calls Rhinox the “muscle of the group” and the “brains of the Maximals.”
On the other hand, producer di Bonaventura said "This character just wants to ram stuff. He wants to ram it all. He's gonna always be the one who's like, "Can I do it now? Can I ram them now?"
The Maximal Rhinox is voiced by David Sobolov.

The Terrorcons in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Explained
In Rise of the Beasts, the Terrorcons are servants of the planet-eating dark god Unicron. They are all imbued with dark energy, and they inflict terror to ensure that Unicron’s goal is achieved.
Here are the Terrorcons that are in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts:
Scourge
Scourge is the leader of the Terrorcons. He’s a trophy hunter who transforms into a black Peterbilt logging semi-truck.
Scourge has a giant electric claw, a double-sided blade, and an Ion cannon. Scourge also has a collection of six-legged Terrorcon Freezers that can sniff out his prey.
Scourge is voiced by Peter Dinklage, who is known for playing Tyrion Lannister on HBO's Game of Thrones. Talking about his character Scourge, Dinklage said in an interview with Screen Rant:
"He’s the boss, but he also has a boss in Unicron. He has to answer to that guy who eats planets, so he’s a bit of a threat. And I think it’s just because he’s treated so poorly by that guy, he just transfers that down to his minions. They're like locusts, right? They just want to consume, destroy, and they don’t have any moral compass, so why not?"
Battletrap
Battletrap is a Terrorcon who transforms into a tow truck. Battletrap has a machine gun and an electrified flail.
The Terrorcon Battletrap is voiced by David Sobolov, who’s also the voice actor for Rhinox.
Nightbird
Nightbird is Scourge’s right hand and a Terrorcon ninja who transforms into a Nissan Skyline GT-R R33. Nightbird is a sword-wielding Terrorcon with fighting skills that make her a dangerous assassin.
Nightbird is voiced by Michaela Jaé Rodriguez.
The Predacons in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Explained
The Predacons are the ancestors of the Decepticons who appear more reptilian in the film. The Maximals and the Predacons are enemies, just like how the Autobots and the Decepticons are enemies. The Predacon Scorponok appears in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
Who is the Villain Unicron in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts?
Megatron and the Decepticons are not in Rise of the Beasts because the villains in this movie are Unicron (voiced by Colman Domingo) and the Terrorcons.
Unicron is a planet-sized Transformer that eats planets to survive. In the Transformers lore, The One created Unicron and his twin Primus.
Primus is the creator god of the Transformers, while Unicron is the dark god of destruction. It is Unicron’s goal to destroy the Universe, and Earth is a planet he aims to devour.
Producer di Bonaventura explained that with the presence of the Autobots, Maximals, Terrorcons, and Predacons in Rise of the Beasts, they “get to pair everybody up against each other, so it becomes a grand finale and epic Transformers experience."
