Toy Story: Woody's Full Name is Actually 'Woody Pride'

The box office was going through a major slump with X-Men: Dark Phoenix, but Toy Story 4 managed to get everyone back in seats. With the franchise seemingly finding a solid end, Pixar's Lee Unkrich reveals that the character of Woody actually has a last name that was never spoken in the films.

If you've watched Toy Story 2, you'll know that Woody is actually a toy from a popular TV show called Woody's Roundup, and he was apparently a big thing before the "space craze" became a thing. We never really got a full name for Woody, but it is kind of neat to know that he would have the last name Pride.

When you think about it, "pride" has a lot to do with Woody's character. In the first movie, his pride was what got him into his issue with Buzz becoming Andy's favorite toy. It was also Woody's pride that almost got him to go off to Japan and become part of a museum exhibit. I also think "Pride" is a very cowboy kind of name, so it's really well thought out.

For now, it looks like the adventures of Woody Pride are finally over. I mean, they were over with Toy Story 3, but I think this fourth movie is a neat epilogue. It's not as good as 3, but it certainly didn't ruin anything.

Catch Toy Story 4 still in theaters.
