Tom Cruise is Back in First Trailer for Top Gun: Maverick

The big reveals just keep coming thanks to the San Diego Comic-Con. After the new trailer for IT: Chapter Two, we have a new look at Tom Cruise's Top Gun: Maverick.

No description has been given for the plot of the film, but based on the trailer alone, it looks like Maverick is a captain that the Air Force just can't seem to shake off. Previous descriptions for the film are said to have Pete Mitchell (Cruise) as a flight instructor, and he'll have to deal with a batch of new recruits, them being Monica Barbaro (the first woman pilot) and Miles Teller (Goose's son). We also didn't get a look of him in the trailer, but Val Kilmer is said to be returning as Iceman.

Other members of the cast include Ed Harris (Westworld), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Jennifer Connelly, Glen Powell, and Lewis Pullman.

Originally, the film was set for a release this year, but the movie had to be delayed in order to work on ‘the logistics of presenting flight sequences with new technology and planes.' I do have to say, the footage looks fantastic, and of course, no Top Gun movie is complete without an intense volleyball match.

Top Gun: Maverick is directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Tom Cruise, Ed Harris, Jon Hamm, and Jennifer Connelly. The film is set for a release on June 26, 2020.
