Tom Bergeron On Being Fired From Dancing With the Stars: 'The Show I Left Was Not The Show That I Loved'

Tom Bergeron got candid after a year after he was fired from Dancing with the Stars. According to the American TV personality, leaving the show was not a significant loss to him.

In 2020, Bergeron announced on Twitter that he would not be returning on Dancing with the Stars. Bergeron, who hosted the show for 15 years, said at the time that he was grateful for the lifelong friendship he made on the show.

When he appeared in an episode of Bob Saget's Here for You podcast on Sept. 13, he revisited his abrupt firing from DWTS. Bergeron already had an idea that he just had his last season because his relationship with the producers wasn't going well.

"In all candor, the show that I left was not the show that I loved," Fox News quoted Bergeron as saying. "So, the end of the season that turned out to be my last season [in 2019], I kind of knew. So I took everything out of my dressing room that I really wanted … It was kind of obvious that we were kind of butting heads."

Bergeron, 66, also made it clear that he has since moved on from the show. The America's Funniest Home Videos alum said he didn't want to talk about his exit from the show.

"You know what nobody needs to hear? A whiny millionaire… It's so self-absorbed. I mean, look. I had a great fortune. I mean, I had two network shows running simultaneously for the better part of a decade and a half," he added.

JoJo Siwa Channels Prince Charming on DWTS Disney Night

Siwa channeled her inner Prince Charming for DWTS' Disney Night Monday. The 18-year-old YouTuber and her same-sex partner pro dancer Jenna Johnson took a Cinderella spin for the competition.

Siwa ditched the glass slipper and danced as Prince Charming while Johnson donned the sparkly blue Cinderella gown as they danced the Viennese waltz to A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes.

Siwa cradled Johnson after a final deep bow. Judge Bruno Tonioli was very impressed. He told them, "you two are a dream come true."

Carrie Ann Inaba also praised the pair's dynamic. She also complimented Siwa, who identifies herself as queer and pansexual, for showing the world that "girls can do anything guys can do, maybe even better."

"I was more excited to be a prince," Siwa said about her role in the dance.

The judges' 9 scores came out, and the duo tops the leaderboard.

Dancing With the Stars Season 30 airs every Monday on ABC at 8 p.m.
