This Is Us Reveals Nicky's Wife In New Flash-Forward

In the latest episode, titled One Giant Leap, This Is Us revealed one of the many missing jigsaw pieces surrounding the Pearson family's future: who Nicky Pearson (Griffin Dunne) is married to, as well as the person in the car pulling up to Kevin's house some 12 or so years in the future.

Nicky's Wife on This Is Us: Who Is She?

An earlier scene in the flash-forward showed Nicky, obviously wearing a wedding ring, sitting at Rebecca's bedside, leading to the popular belief that Nicky would marry Rebecca sometime between the present-day plot and that sorrowful future evening at Kevin's house.

Nicky's wife is a flight attendant named Edie (played by Vanessa Bell Calloway, Coming to America/Shameless), whom he met when he traveled home from California after reestablishing contact with Sally, according to this week's episode. In fact, towards the end of the last flash-forward sequence, Edie was the one who pulled up to the house.

Nicky flirts with Edie about not wanting to return his seat to its full upright and locked position in the present. She laughs and says she's pleased she brought her duct tape. "All you had to do was ask," he says, beaming genuinely as he says it.

One Giant Leap

From an equally emotional perspective, Déja sneaks out to visit Malik at Harvard, where they have s*x for the first time, and it's really sweet. To be honest, we're confused by how gently the show is easing us into its last season, but we're not alone. Milo Ventimiglia recently projected that Episode 4 would be heart-wrenching - what if it's all misery and devastation from there? From an equally emotional perspective, Déja sneaks out to visit Malik at Harvard, where they have s*x for the first time, and it's really sweet.

"The show has always been challenging because it plays with time, and we always knew that season 6 would be ambitious in terms of the way it jumps time -- even more ambitious than other seasons,” creator Dan Fogelman said following the season 5 finale in May 2021.

“Because our audience has been so devoted, and we've hopefully smartly set up the contained areas where these future timelines live, I think you're going to have a real sense of resolution and completion from this family," he added. "It's where the mixed-up VHS tapes of this family will all coalesce and speak to one another in completion.
