Although the release date for the second season of The Witcher is yet to be revealed, the show is aiming for a 2021 release. The series is said to have already started its production and it seems like the Nilfgaardian armor hasn't changed a bit.

According to Redanian Intelligence and its sources, the first scenes being filmed are set in Nilfgaard. The site then shared a few leaked photos of costume tests for extras which indicates that the armor's design for the second season isn't different despite showrunner Lauren Hissrich's assurance.

In a previous interview, Hissrich says season two will be a chance for them to improve some of the things that need work from the first season. Since the Nilfgaardian armor has had widespread criticism from the audience, she revealed that the design will be "totally different" in the upcoming season.

That being said, it is also possible that the armor's design will stay like this for a few scenes but will be changed in later episodes. Since the show features a lot of skipping between time settings, it is possible that the armor will be seen in flashback sequences or parts that are in the setting of the first season. So, the Nilfgaardian armor hasn't changed, at least, not yet.

The site also pointed out that filming was originally set on February 17, but it looks like the studio is ahead of schedule. They also revealed that actor and singer Mike Wood will reportedly appear as a Nilfgaardian soldier in season 2.
