The Witcher Season 2 Filming Delay Could Push Netflix Series to Late 2020 Premiere

It has already been confirmed that The Witcher Season 2 will resume filming in August. However, there is still a huge possibility that the series will not be ready in time to premiere early next year. A new report suggests that the lengthy production for the Netflix show could push it back to a later release date.

The report from Redanian Intelligence points out that although The Witcher Season 2 will start filming again on August 17, production is set to be extended to make up for all the time lost due to the coronavirus outbreak shutdowns. It is suggested that the series could continue shooting until February 2021.

Now that doesn't sound so bad, right? A little post-production work should take a few months and this could lead to a premiere by summer. However, there's also a good chance that the release will be moved back to the end of 2021.

At this point, this shouldn't be too bad. After all, it should line up pretty well with the second season premiering at around the same time as Season 1, which aired on Netflix in December last year. We're just hoping that the cast and crew stay safe when they finally resume filming next month.

The Witcher Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
