The world of The Witcher is getting even bigger!

Netflix just announced The Witcher: Blood Origin, a 6 part live-action spin-off series from The Witcher. While details about the upcoming series are yet to be revealed, it is known that it will be helmed by Declan de Barra and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.

Set 1200 years before Geralt of Rivia, Blood Origin will explore a period when "the worlds of monsters, men and elves merged into one," as well reveal how the "first Witcher came to be."

"This has been the toughest secret to keep!" Hissrich wrote about the show's announcement. "I've always wanted to dive deeper into the myth and lore of the Continent, and now fans will have a chance to explore it with Declan de Barra in a prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin."

In addition, Hissrich teased, "Elves, and enemies, and the end, oh my…" You can check out the tweet below!

There was no release or production date revealed as well as who's even starring in it. Of course, the best bet is that it'll likely center around the "first witcher." There wasn't any trailer released alongside the announcement too, which suggests that it'll still be a while before it arrives on the streaming giant.
