The Witcher 3 Won't Have Cross-Save Functionality on PS4 or Xbox One

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition on Nintendo Switch recently got a big update that adds cross-save functionality with PC and improved the graphics. Due to that, a lot of fans are hoping that cross-save is added to other versions of the game and by "other versions," we mean the PS4 and Xbox One versions. However, that doesn't appear to be the case.

During an interview with USgamer, a representative from CD Projekt Red said that the update was only designed for Switch and PC, before then claiming that it won't be coming to the other systems. This is pretty sad for gamers who have a gaming PC and a PS4 or Xbox One since they won't be able to cross-save between the systems.

Here's what was said:

This option is something we designed for the Switch version specifically, together with Saber Interactive—the team which was closely cooperating with us on the Switch port. There are no plans regarding similar functionality in the other versions of The Witcher 3.

Cross-save and cross-play functionality are two things that gamers really want to see more of. While we do understand that different game companies want some sense of authority when it comes to games on their system, having the ability to play the same game together, or in this case play the same game on a different system, it would make connecting with each other much easier.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition is now available on Nintendo Switch.
