The Walking Dead has ended with 11 seasons, with no hopes for a 12th season, but fans don't have to worry. They will continuously see The Walking Dead universe with the three spinoffs coming, and there will be more.
The show's executive producer and chief content officer Scott Gimple revealed that fans could see more spinoffs that will expand the zombie universe. So, aside from The Walking Dead: Dead City, featuring the unlikely allies Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and coming out in April 2023, Daryl Dixon and Rick & Michonne releasing later next year, there will be more coming.
More The Walking Dead Spinoffs Coming
In an interview with AMC, Gimple revealed that three spinoffs coming in 2023 are just the first of the many new shows coming from the flagship series and featuring the original characters.
He even wanted the recently concluded Tales of the Walking Dead to feature more old and familiar stars as the franchise developed past the original show.
"I'm hoping these are the first stories and characters we explore, and I really hope we do more," he said. "I will say that for Tales of The Walking Dead, my plan was to have a lot more of the old characters on there. I hope we get to do that eventually and I really, really do want to get into these other characters and other mythologies and other situations, so I'm hoping these are the first."
Aside from Tales, he's also eyeing more limited series or spinoffs.
"I have a lot of dreams of doing more. Right now, we're concentrating on these, but give us a little while and I hope that we can jump into other characters," he continued. "In some ways, we are working on some, but we're not urgently working on them. We want to get these shows up on their feet and then start widening out the world again."

Gimple also addressed the end of the flagship series, The Walking Dead, and why there would be no The Walking Dead Season 12.

"We have a lot of thrilling story left to tell on TWD, and then, this end will be a beginning of more Walking Dead — brand-new stories and characters, familiar faces and places, new voices, and new mythologies," he said, via Digital Spy. "This will be a grand finale that will lead to new premieres. Evolution is upon us. The Walking Dead lives."
By the looks of it, AMC and the show's crew have amicably decided it's already the perfect time to end the long-running series.

Well, it's better to say goodbye while there's still demand than to see it gradually failing.
