Daryl Dixon's Way to France

It remains a big question to many as to how Daryl ends up in France in the new spinoff series. However, the show's final episode finally reveals how it will happen.

The finale ends on a positive note, with everyone in the Commonwealth, Alexandria, and Hilltop finally finding peace and happiness.

Maggie (Lauren Cohan) has been reinstated as Hilltop's leader. But as the problem with the zombies is yet to end, she asks Daryl to go on an important mission to find out more about the "wider situation."

Though Maggie doesn't reveal what mission Daryl is about to fulfill, ScreenRant noted it could be about the undead's continuous change.

And as The Walking Dead: World Beyond confirmed that the outbreak began and evolved in France, it's probably where Maggie wanted Daryl to go.

Hence, his journey will continue in France, where Daryl Dixon is set.

The Walking Dead Spinoff Daryl Dixon

According to AMC president Dan McDermott via Comicbook, the upcoming The Walking Dead spinoff will "follow Daryl as he wakes up and finds himself somewhere on the European continent and tries to piece together what happened."

"I don't want to say too much," executive producer Greg Nicotero told Comicbook. "I just think that it really sort of embraces a Stranger In a Strange Land kind of scenario, where we're exploring post-apocalyptic Europe through the eyes of Daryl Dixon."

Nicotero and Reedus have been in France for the production of Daryl Dixon, which will have six episodes.

The filming started in October and would feature Clémence Poésy and Adam Nagaitis as additional cast members.

"I got to say, we've had a great time. It really just is a different animal," Nicotero continued. "And I even was sort of surprised, myself, standing on set and going, 'I've been on Walking Dead for 12 years, and here we are.' But it feels fresh, and it feels new. And David Zabel, our showrunner, has been an absolute joy to collaborate with. And it's been really fun."

The Walking Dead spinoff Daryl Dixon will be out in 2023 on AMC and AMC+.
