The Rings of Power Star Discusses Whether Galadriel Truly Considered Joining Sauron

If there's one shocking thing about The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, it was the ending where Halbrand is revealed to be Sauron and he tries to convince Galadriel to join him.

But was Galadriel seriously considering helping the villain in his evil mission? Morfydd Clark discussed the possibility of her character turning to the dark side.

In the Rings of Power Season 1 finale, Galadriel realizes that Halbrand had been Sauron all along. To make matters worse, he wants her to help him take over Middle Earth.

Although she ultimately refuses, viewers wondered if there was a moment when Galadriel seriously considered the offer. So when Collider asked about this, Morfydd Clark shared her insight on what her character was thinking.

"I kind of want to keep it ambiguous, as well, but I think the thing with Galadriel is that she knows that should she go to the dark side things will be catastrophic," she said.

"I've been thinking a lot about what the gift of foresight would actually feel like, and I'm like, 'Is it just like increased anxiety in a way?'" Clark continued.

"Because you have all these ideas of what could be, what could be, what could be, and I think one of her big 'what could be’s' is like, 'What if I'm bad?'" she pondered.

"But I don't know. I mean, they definitely vibe because they're very powerful, but I’m not sure," Clark concluded.

She certainly has a point about Galadriel and Sauron being powerful but fans would like to believe that the Elf would always choose good over evil.

Morfydd Clark will return as Galadriel in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 which has not yet been given an official release date.

However, the series is already expected to return on Amazon Prime sometime in 2024.
